Infrastructures.

Infrastructure is the backbone of the railway: our figures on our network, our fixed installations as well as installations used for producing and distributing electricity for railway operations show the central importance of our infrastructural installations. All of this is complemented by maps of the network, the coordinators for construction work near railways and SBB’s energy network, as well as diagrams providing a comparison of energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions, a time series of the traction current consumption and international comparisons of network density and degree of electrification.

The minimum percentage of rail power from renewable energy sources is 90%. The definitive renewable electricity mix is declared on the basis of proof of origin and can only be finalised in spring of the following year.
